Wade went to do another task while Kratos was sent to kill the Hydra and then save Athens from Ares. They returned to the surface as the sun was back in the sky but they passed out from exhaustion. Kratos disarmed himself to be with his daughter but Wade didn't as it was then revealed that it was Persephone who released Atlas to have him destroy the world pillar so she can finally be free but Wade and Kratos fought her, Kratos killed Persephone and they both chained Atlas forcing him to hold the world on his shoulders. Kratos killed Charon as they both took the boat deeper into the Underworld where they met Persephone. It took a while but Kratos returned just in time to take Wade's place in the fight letting him rest. Kratos was defeated but Wade kept on fighting. Wade and Kratos helped each other as they got the Steeds of Helios awaken as they took them to the Underworld where they fought Charon. Kratos also embarked on the same quest as they met each other for the first time in the Temple of Helios. Wade was surprised when Helios was kidnapped as he was sent to save him. Wade decided to stay for now to see where this led. Wade could finally leave from Greece and never return but Athena told him that Kratos will serve the Gods so he can gain forgiveness. When Kratos killed the Furies including Orkos, he also freed everyone else who had a bond to the Gods. He wasn't afraid to renounce his service but he was trying to play this the smart way, but it seems Kratos' method seemed faster. Wade also wanted to renounce his service to Olympus but couldn't. Kratos renounced his service to Ares and Wade knew it was a bad action since now the Furies were now going to be after him. However when he destroyed a village that worshipped Athena, the Oracle of the village casted a curse on him turning him as white as snow. Wade heard every rumor about Kratos' ruthless methods in service of Ares. He was given the Blades of Chaos, made from the fires of Tartarus, the chains sealed into his flesh. It wasn't long that Wade heard that a Young Spartan became a Captain and faced against the Barbarians to the East, it did not end well for many Spartans until the Young Spartan Captain named Kratos gave his life to Ares becoming his servant. Task after task done for years, Wade was offered a place in Olympus but Wade refused, he wanted to live as a man even if he was granted immortality. Wade thought he looked more like Zeus' Champion than Olympus' Champion. He was gifted the Godly Armor of Zeus and the Blade of Zeus. Wade has proven again and again why he was worthy to become their champion. Zeus needed a champion to deal with mortals who thought they were better than the Gods. So how did a Spartan Warrior who never got defeated suddenly become the champion of the Gods of Olympus. He outsmarts his enemies just as much as he overpowers them making him gain favor from both Ares and Athena.
